Choose Safety Features
Make sure that there is an interior trunk release, to prevent anyone from getting trapped inside. You should test this to make sure it is both easy to see and easy enough for a child to use. Most cars with small rear seats or without rear seats at all now have an off switch for the passenger side air bag. This is an important safety feature, especially if your children are small or still in a car seat, in which case an air bag can be dangerous. Make sure that the car you choose has an air bag off switch if children will be sitting in the front seat - don't take it for granted that the feature will be included.
